IT’S YOUR DECISION

The Akita fanciers listed below believe that a vote AGAINST a split is the right thing to do and is the SIMPLE SOLUTION that preserves all our options into the future, does the least harm, and abridges no one's rights. Those who prefer to breed toward either the domestic or the import look can do so, as can those who desire to combine them.  All will be able to export dogs to FCI or non-FCI countries.

A vote AGAINST the split preserves a fundamental American value--freedom of choice.  You don’t need to agree with another breeder's goal to support his right to strive for it.  Our Constitution and By-laws mandate us to “encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Akitas and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection…” As long as we as breeders produce Akitas that measure up to the AKC standard, we ought to support each other's endeavors. Voting NO to a split is the only way to accomplish this.  We urge you to join us in keeping the Akita one breed.
